Her childhood and adolescent experiences never hindered her to become a great person today. Furthermore, she was always positive in life. She always looked into the brighter side of it. Just like Oprah Winfrey, we should always look not just on the brighter side of life, but on the brightest side of it. According to Ainsworth, there are three evident attachment patterns that can develop: secure, ambivalent and avoidant infants. Ainsworth felt it was necessary for a child to transition from a mother’s attachment and vulnerability to autonomy and independence as a factor in normal healthy development. One of the key points of Ainsworth’s security theory is that infants need to â€Å"develop a sense of direction and secure dependence on parents† before leaving the nest into a strange and unfamiliar situation (Bretherton, 1992). Aristotle's Virtue Ethics Aristotle in his virtue ethics states that a virtuous individual is someone with ideal traits. These characteristic traits normally come from an individual’s innate tendency but should be cultivated. After they are cultivated, these character traits supposedly become stable in an individual. Moral consequentilaists and deontologists are normally concerned with universal doctrines that can be utilized in any situation that requires moral interpretation. Unlike these theorists, Aristotle’s virtue ethics are concerned with the general questions such as â€Å"what is a good life†, â€Å"what are proper social and family values†, and â€Å"how should one live† (Bejczy 32). Aristotle developed his virtue ethics based on three central principles; eudaimonia, ethics of care, and agent based theories. Eudaimonia stipulates that virtues can be seen in the way an individual flourishes; flourishing under this concept refers to one’s ability to perform their functions with distinct accuracy (Bejczy 33). The distinct function of humans according to Aristotle is reasoning, and a worthy life is characterized by good reasoning. The agent based theory places emphasis on the fact that virtues are determined by common institutions people use to label traits in other people as admirable. According to Aristotle’s virtue ethics, a virtue like honesty does not necessarily refer to the tendency of people acting honestly, or the classification of the virtue as a desirable trait. Ralph is brought to so much power being credited to finding the conch and rising but also falling in power along side it. The supporting character of story, Piggy, helps us show how the conch is a double edged sword. It gives Ralph the ability to become leader and create a civilization but also helps Jack, the antagonist, resist the conch and help build his own empire on the island which tears everyone apart and creates savagery which is controlled with the tips of his fingers. He can hold it when he s speaking. (18)† Ralph uses the conch as a symbol of authority with the boys in their very important meeting about rules of th e island. The conch comes to represent civilization and order in this quote, as Ralph instructs the boys how to use the conch to take proper turns in their meetings and becomes even more in-power as he is now focused as the leader to the boys who didn’t agree with him being leader at first. The conch begins to age and lose power as Ralph in the story loses his power to savagery leaded by Jack. Ralph is seen as very strong until Jack finally succeeds in killing his very first pig after a long time of disappointment. He begins to celebrate with some of the kids because of the death of the pig and gets everyone interested into food and savagery. Like Ralph and the conch comparison, an analogy can be used for Ralph and the conch. As for Ralph, he begins to lose power to Jack who has always been a rebellion to him and the conch loses power also with Golding stating Exposure to the sun had bleached the yellow and pink to near-white, and transparency.
